Our juices are “cold-pressed” which means that they are as nutrient-rich as juice gets.
The cold press system is two stages: first, solid produce is shredded without heating (or accidentally generating heat), and second, the shredded produce is placed in a sterile bag and squeezed using a flat press at 2000lbs of pressure. The cool shredding breaks open fibres and frees nutrients in the juice. The flat cold press extracts the juice with those nutrients.
Many other systems shred using rotary blade machines that heat up while in use. Because vitamins and nutrients are heat-sensitive, the product is much more nutrient-rich if the shredding and pressing are cooler. Because the system is also efficient, there is also less waste! We use a Goodnature X6 Juicer, an industry-standard machine.
Green juice is an anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and an antidote to the toxins in our diet and our environment. Green juice has chlorophyll, an awesome and dynamic blood cleansing and blood building power. Green juice floods the body with phytochemicals and folic acid. Folic acid (also known as folate, vitamin m, vitamin b9, vitamin bc (or folacin), pteroyl-l-glutamic acid, and pteroyl-l-glutamate) is a form of the water-soluble vitamin b9.

Some companies use High Pressure Pasteurization (HPP) to treat foods and juices to extend shelf life to 30 or even 40 days. But the process of HPP deactivates certain microorganisms and enzymes. It changes the chemical makeup of the juice. Some experts go so far as to say that HPP is like another additive and is just another form of pasteurization.
Green Carrot’s juices are fresh from the press. In order to preserve the integrity of all the produce we use, we do not use HPP. Our juices have only a 5-day shelf life because we believe in offering the highest quality product with the maximum nutritional value. Fresh is Best – your food should only last a few days and not months in your fridge. Think about that!
When we have a choice, we choose organic. Green Carrot is committed to a sustainable world. We work hard to source both organic and local wherever possible. Our raw juice contains trace amounts of water soluble and non-soluble fibre. You only need trace amounts of fibre on a juice fast liquid diet, as you can go quite a long time without fibre on a juice fast.
We stand by the philosophy that the best way to get fibre is from eating whole, fresh fruits and vegetables the old fashion way. Make no mistake: the value of raw fresh juice is that we are removing most of the fibre which allows the nutrients in the juice to be absorbed into the blood stream quickly. Not all calories are the same: a calorie from a Cold Pressed juice is nutrient dense and rich but is not the same as a calorie from a soda! For those who look to reduce even naturally occurring sugars, the best choices are green juices.
About 3 to 5 pounds of fruits and vegetables are in every bottle. Depending on how much we juice, the formula for each juice is adjusted proportionally. This is also largely dependant on the ripeness, quality, individual recipe itself.
A lot of people are concerned about calories. The first thing to consider is the source of the calories. The sources of Green Carrot calories are raw, plant-based, unprocessed foods, not processed foods. The calories in these unprocessed foods are packed with nutrients that feed your body, and detoxify the body. Because nutrition is more than just calories, it's important to look at the whole picture when assessing the value of a food or beverage. We believe that just counting—or reducing—calories without assessing nutritional values is a catastrophic blunder: you cannot achieve optimal health unless there is a shift in focus to nutritional value. A calorie from a slice of pizza is not the same as a calorie from a Cold Pressed juice.
The best sweeteners are no sweeteners at all, but the whole fruit in its raw form. In many of our juices and products, we use whole raw fruits such as apple or dates, which give a bit of sweetness alongside their nutrients!

The hunger you are experiencing is probably due to a change in your routine and an emotional connection to food. As you get further along in your cleanse, you will notice cravings start to disappear. If you are too hungry, feel free to add a salad, fresh fruit, or other organic plant-based snacks to your cleanse program.
What a controversial subject. You will likely lose weight during a cleanse because you’re leaving out processed and cooked foods and you’re in a calorie deficit. Juice is food. It’s pure, unprocessed, amazing nutrition. However, we do not recommended a juice cleanse as a means to permanent weight loss or lifestyle choice.
It takes 18 hours for your body to digest just ONE meal. Now imagine how many times you eat in 18 hours. A juice cleanse is a great way to give your digestive tract a break. Keep in mind, it’s not the juice alone that is performing mystical or magical work—it’s all about what you’re leaving out. The simple fact is that during a cleanse, you are avoiding processed foods, bad food combinations, overeating, etc. When you do this, your body is allowed to do what it is designed to do: heal. this is basic biology and chemistry—nothing here that a doctor can deny.
Our juice contains trace amounts of protein, but the main benefit of a juice cleanse, in our experience, is that you're leaving out excessive protein and using protein stores in the body. We believe that if you add animal protein back in to a juice fast, it will limit the depth of the cleanse.

Yes, we recommend low- or no-impact activities like yoga, walking, swimming, stretching and breathing exercises. An easy walk will gently encourage lymphatic circulation; a sweaty workout will push toxins out more quickly. Listen to what your body needs.
Sometimes rest can be the greatest purifier. Also, consider taking a hot salt bath — and almost nothing beats the sweating power of a sauna.
The night before you cleanse, do not binge eat on high caloric, fatty foods— you’ll only feel that much more hungry on day one of your cleanse! Drink juice and eat clean, reasonable meals. The best "last meal" is a large diverse raw salad without animal protein.
It’s a good idea to pre-cleanse by spending one or more days eating fresh fruit, salads, sprouts, nuts and seeds. Avoid all processed foods.
You don’t have to stop working or make the perfect time to cleanse. We recommend doing a cleanse at any time and as frequently as you can afford. For best results, though, it is necessary to rest from exercise. You may train, but it is not ideal during detox.
Ending a juice fast is the most crucial aspect of the process. The raw vegan diet after a prolonged fast is truly the best way to continue to detox. Maintain that as long as possible after a juice fast.

You may start mornings off with hot water and lemon tea to continue with your alkaline routine— add raw honey if you desire. Try to drink blended smoothie with greens.

Ladies: if you trust your obstetrician, follow his/her recommendations. anyone can get sick at anytime from produce, whether prepared at home or by a commercial operation like Green Carrot. No doctor in their right mind would tell a pregnant women to avoid eating carrots or spinach.

Drink water. Your body will adjust or, should we say, your mind will adjust in a day or two. The body doesn’t distinguish between thirst and hunger so drink water or juice and your stomach will tell your brain to chillax.
If that doesn’t help, drink more caloric juices and even add in a smoothie with hemp protein powder. The feelings of hunger pass quickly if you have will power and don't panic. Even the most insane food addicts testify to the power of the juice to feed the body.
Pull back on physical activity. Take more frequent naps. Ride through it. Avoid solids. Journal!— cleansing is partially about getting to know your body and your limits, so enjoy the time of self-reflection! If you feel dizzy or light headed, you may consider stopping the cleanse.
